The joys and benefits of pet ownership are numerous. In most cases, pets are considered members of the family. Caring for our pets is an important responsibility.

We have developed our pet care section to provide you with the information to help you better understand your pet’s needs. This information will help to ensure that your pet is a healthy and happy member of your family.

We cover many aspects of pet care including puppy and kitten care, heartworm prevention, flea control, vaccinations, desexing and microchipping. We also discuss dietary needs, dental care, senior pet care and some of the more common household toxin for pets.

Please feel free to contact one of the vets or the nurses here at the Hospital if you have any questions about any of the information we have provided. We are always more than happy to answer any queries you may have. 

With the advances in human medicine also becoming available for our pets, the cost of veterinary care can be more than ever before. Surgeries such as total hip replacements, total knee replacements and the advanced imaging techniques of MRI and CT have become more common. Unfortunately, pets have no medicare to help pay these bills.

Here at High Street Road Animal Hospital, we place great importance on pro-active healthcare for seniors. With this in mind, we started the Golden Paws Club.
The Golden paws club is a specially designed package for older pets. Membership involves:
6 monthly health checks, including full clinical examination.

Yearly blood profile and six monthly urine tests for earlier diagnosis and treatment of potential problems. Read more...
